The National Garden

The National Garden of Athens, located near Syntagma Square, is one of the most important and beautiful public spaces in the city. It was created in the 19th century by Queen Amalia, wife of King Otto, and covers an area of 15.5 hectares. The garden was designed by the German architect Carl Friedrich Schmidt and is home to over 500 species of plants and trees from all over the world.
